Dr. Sherri Edelman Philadelphia PsychologistDr. Edelman has over 20 years experience in the fields of psychotherapy and counseling, training and consultation, education, and life and career coaching. She has a BS degree in Education from Temple University; and dual Master's degrees: from Hahnemann University in Group Psychotherapy and Group Process; and from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Clinical Psychology, where she has also earned a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Dr. Edelman is a Nationally Certified Psychologist and a Pennsylvania Licensed Counselor. She has been a psychology educator at the Master's level; and has worked in private psychotherapy practice, residential and community mental health, specialty care, and vocational and cognitive rehabilitation. Her work includes experience with individuals, including children, adolescents and adults, as well as couples, families and groups. She is presently associated with the Center for Children's Support at the University of Medicine and Dentistry, School of Osteopathic Medicine (UMDNJ-SOM) in NJ; she leads physical/sexual abuse and domestic violence groups for children and adults, as well as conducts research in sexual abuse. She is a workshop presenter, most recently at Reading Hospital in Pennsylvania (Child Abuse) and the New Jersey Cares about Bullying conference (Female Bullying). She was recently awarded the Pennsylvania Psychological Association's (PPA) Education Award for research and work in child abuse. Dr. Edelman is one of a group of professionals who has served on a National Entrance for Triune Chiropractic & Wellness of Philadelphia PennsylvaniaAdvisory Panel for Best Practices for the treatment of Child Abuse, a joint effort between the National Call to Action: A Movement to End Child Abuse based at the Chadwick Center in San Diego, CA and the Ewing Marion Kaufman Foundation in Kansas City, Missouri. She also serves as Chair of the National Call to Action Authentic Voice committee. In November of 2003 she appeared on two television shows in her role as child advocate: Sunday Live on ABC6 and It's Your Call With Lynn Doyle on Comcast CN8.

Areas of professional specialty include: couples therapy; cognitive-behavioral interventions for emotional and physical pain and weight management; sexual, physical and emotional abuse and neglect; trauma and domestic violence; personal and career coaching; holistic counseling; therapy and organizational groups; and professional training and workshop/seminar presentations. In 2002, Dr. Edelman co-founded Triune Chiropractic, Counseling and Wellness in Philadelphia, PA, a Health and Wellness center providing education and services that remove interference to the body's own natural healing mechanisms--honoring the interdependence of body, mind and spirit. Dr. Edelman is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), the Pennsylvania Psychological Association (PPA), and the Association for the Advancement of Behavior Therapy (AABT).
